Women in STEM: Accessing Opportunities in Math and Tech with Dr. Osaye and Temilade Adelakun
In this Masterclass, Dr. Fadekemi Janet Osaye and Temilade Adelakun shared about their journey into tech and how women in STEM can access opportunities in STEM and leverage mentorship for greater impacts in their careers.

Fadekemi Janet Osaye is currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Troy University, Alabama, USA. Prior to this role, she served as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at both Auburn University and Alabama State University.
In 2019, she earned a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, becoming the first black female to achieve this distinction.

Temilade Adelakun is a current MBA student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She previously worked at Google as a product marketer, where she led strategic initiatives encompassing branding, positioning, and growth marketing for various Google consumer and Android products across the Sub Saharan Africa region.
Temilade's academic journey boasts prestigious accolades, including recognition as a Future Female Leader Awardee by IESE Business School in 2023 and alumni status from the Harvard Business School Crossroads Emerging Leaders Program in 2020. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with First-Class Honors from the University of Ibadan.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Temilade is deeply committed to driving positive change in the tech industry and society at large. She is a passionate advocate for more girls in STEM, women and youth inclusion, accessibility, digital literacy, and sustainability, actively engaging with communities and delivering impactful awareness programs in collaboration with organizations such as STEMBelle and Google Women Techmakers.
