In a world where academic excellence is often seen as the only measure of success, SWIS Africa is expanding the conversation, especially for girls in STEM. We believe that true leadership means thriving in all aspects of life—not just in the classroom.
Meet Our Inspiring Speakers
This isn't a typical lecture. We've brought together three incredible young women who are living proof that you can excel academically while leading a full and balanced life.

Amara Obi: A Nigerian athlete and Public Health graduate, Amara is currently pursuing her MBA in Business Analytics and Risk Management. A Commonwealth Games finalist, she passionately balances her academic career with sports, research, and community impact, all while empowering young women to lead purposeful lives.
Adeola: As a Cybersecurity AI Solutions Architect at NVIDIA, Adeola develops and deploys AI solutions at scale. She is also a passionate advocate for sports and community development, working on projects for underserved communities and women's groups. Adeola is an alumna of the University of Arkansas Little Rock.
Dr. Fasilat Rafiu: A geographer with a research focus on the nexus between climate change adaptation, food security, and environmental management. She is a lecturer at Kwara State University, shaping the next generation of leaders in this critical field.
Each speaker will share their personal journey, including their academic path in STEM, how they balanced their studies with extracurriculars like sports and volunteering, and the challenges they faced.
What to Expect
This webinar is more than just a talk; it's a platform for mentorship and collaboration. We’ll kick things off with a fun icebreaker and a live poll to get everyone engaged. After the speaker segment, you'll have the chance to join smaller breakout rooms for interactive Q&A sessions and open discussions with our speakers, giving you a chance to ask questions and even initiate mentorship relationships.
Our goal is simple: to inspire you to pursue a holistic approach to success and challenge the stereotypes that often limit girls in STEM.
