Raising Foundations of Generation Impacts (RFGImpact) in partnership with SWIS Africa, proudly hosted the SPELBEC Science Spelling Bee Competition at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. The event brought together enthusiastic students, parents, educators, and community leaders to celebrate the power of words, science, and innovation.
A Day of Learning and Excellence
The spelling bee featured several competitive rounds where high school students from grades 6 to 9 showcased their spelling skills under pressure. Their confidence, determination, and mastery of language set the tone for an inspiring day.
In addition to the spelling bee, students from grades 10 to 12 participated in a poster competition, creatively communicating scientific ideas and discoveries. A hands-on scientific experiment session also engaged participants, giving them the opportunity to explore practical applications of science while nurturing curiosity and teamwork.
Inspiring Voices
The event was enriched by thought-provoking speeches.
Pastor Jason from The Pas delivered a talk on “Standing Out”, encouraging students to embrace their uniqueness and pursue excellence in all they do.
Pastor Mrs. Abiola Opeyemi, an esteemed educator in Winnipeg, gave the keynote address, challenging students to remain curious and resilient as they explore opportunities in both academics and life.
