About the Event
On September 6, 2025, Raising Foundations of Generation Impacts (RFGImpact) partnered with SWIS Africa to host the SPELBEC Science Spelling Bee Competition at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. The event brought together enthusiastic students, parents, educators, and community leaders to celebrate the power of words, science, and innovation.
The spelling bee featured several competitive rounds where high school students from grades 6 to 9 showcased their spelling skills under pressure. Their confidence, determination, and mastery of language set the tone for an inspiring day.
In addition to the spelling bee, students from grades 10 to 12 participated in a poster competition, creatively communicating scientific ideas and discoveries. A hands-on scientific experiment session also engaged participants, giving them the opportunity to explore practical applications of science while nurturing curiosity and teamwork.
